The buzz has been growing and growing as to whether Harrah's Entertainment will allow third party registrations for the WSOP 2007.  After months of no direct answers Harrah's admitted they will not allow online poker sites to qualify players for the WSOP 2007. 

What does this mean for online player looking to play in the WSOP for cheap?  Not much really.  You see there are a few loopholes here that we're sure even Harrah's is aware of.  First thing to look at are the many sites allowing WSOP 2007 satellites.  Are we missing something?  All of these sites, including the sites allowing US players, have publicly announced they are offering WSOP seats via satellites or freerolls to their players.  Well if Harrah's will not allow this how are they going to do this?  Remember I mentioned "loopholes" before.  One thing to keep in mind is that there is nothing stopping any online poker room from just giving you the cash to buy in.  Well that sounds OK but what about the many players that won't show up and just keep the $10,000?  I know there would be 1,000's of players that would just decide to keep the money if it was deposited into their player accounts months before the event.  The poker rooms know this and one thing the online sites want are the players to show up.  This is how they get a lot of exposure by giving their qualifiers T-shirts and hats smothered with the poker rooms logo on it.  So what can be done to prevent this?  Well let's look at two of those "loopholes" I spoke of.

First: An online poker site can very easily hold your winnings as a satellite win and fly you to Vegas, give you a room at The Rio and then meet you at the sign up cage and give you the $10,000 buy in.  Sounds difficult but really it's not. 

Second:  As it stands there is no limit to how many seats one of these online poker rooms can purchase before the event begins.  The only thing they need to make sure is that you register yourself for the tournament.  So they could buy the seats and give you a so called "voucher" and have you register for the event when you arrive in Las Vegas.

I'm also sure that I have left out some other key factors that will allow these online poker sites to give away WSOP 2007 seats, but these alone should get you excited to qualify.  Here is a list of rooms that currently have the best promos for WSOP 2007 satellites.
